Everything I think I’ve seen it all, here comes another ingenious service. This time it’s ifttt.com, or “if this then that”, a free service that’s like Google Alerts, but on steroids. You can use it to automate certain tasks, such as search Craigslist, YouTube, Twitter, etc. for certain phrases, then take an action, like sending you an email or text.
I first heard about it when I reviewed a free course I found in the WarriorForum War Room that shows you how to use ifttt to notify you when business owners post to Craigslist desperately looking for help. Then you can either provide the service yourself or if it’s something simple, find someone on Fiverr/com to do it for $5. Sort of an arbitrage model.
I’m still playing with it, but I’ve heard of people using it to automate and systematize blog posting, social media interactions, backlinking and all sorts of stuff. There are over 40 channels and many ways you can use them. There are “recipes” on the site that show different ways others have used it.
Check it out and enjoy! ifttt.com
